Excerpt: I have always been a Next-Gen Madden gamer. So you can imagine my excitement in checking out the Wii version this year when EA announced some of the new features and gameplay changes – specific to the Wii console. These new features include an all-new Franchise mode, the new GameFlow play calling system, brand new player animations and weather based gameplay.
Excerpt: Madden NFL 10 landed on the Wii as a crippled beast. Its iconic Franchise Mode had been neglected, essentially receiving only a roster update, and sealed away as a password unlockable. With a new emphasis on multiplayer minigames, it seemed entirely possible that Nintendo's future football could permanently turn away from this single-player staple.
Excerpt: The “everything you see on a Sunday” blurb on the back of the box does not relate to the Eastenders Omnibus or a nice roast dinner with Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire puddings that most of the British population are accustomed to seeing on a Sunday, but rather the formations and tackles gridiron fans see on their teleboxes once a week.
Excerpt: It’s another year, another installment of crushing hits, huge passes, and defense-shredding runs with the latest in the Madden franchise, Madden NFL 11 . The annual football installment from EA has made a few new changes to the franchise. Is the new Gameflow feature and revamped locomotion system enough of a reason for players to give this latest Madden a shot? Or does the game fumble the ball and ruin the series’ positive track record?
Excerpt: Releasing at the same time as Madden NFL 11 on the consoles, the HD version of Madden for the Apple iPad ($12.99) hit the app store with versions for the iPhone / iPod Touch ($7.99) as well. New to the franchise this year is Gameflow, a mode in the game that automatically chooses plays for you and reduces the amount of time you are actually in the game.
Summary: Madden's back with the best football experience in years. Casual fans will love the simpler, quicker games, while hardcore fanatics will have plenty to sink their teeth into with Ultimate Team and Online Franchise.
Pros: The faster gameplay through GameFlow, The depth for you and friends in Ultimate Team, Easier and less complex controls make Madden fun for everyone
Cons: Reoccurring graphic glitches, Commentary needs more punch, Lag can make online miserable
Excerpt: It should come as no surprise that tomorrow the sun will come up, and Madden NFL 11 will be on sale. Its arrival not only signals the impending end of summer, but the coming of the holiday gaming season. Both revered and reviled, perhaps more than any other game franchise in the history of the medium, Madden NFL has come a long way since its inception.
