Summary: I am very impressed by sound quality for such a low price.after hearing bose systems,i am pleased with logitech 540for its admirable audio quality.on movies, bass engulf whole room & satellite speakers offered great clarity.i wasn't expectin much for such a low-priced system but I was blown away .this proves you don't hav to pay out mega-bucks for quality sound.the matrix button was real neat-it created a simulated 5.1 sound that had depth.
Summary: I needed speakers for my computer so I could edit videos in 5.1 surround sound. I read a number of reviews online, and Logitech X540 speakers were constantly rated at the top in their price range. I found a good deal on E-Bay, so I bought them. I have not been disappointed. They're not going to shake the walls, but they're certainly good for the price and my purpose. And I like the wired remote control that lets you control the volume and bass.
Summary: Replaced my worn out Klipsch 5.1 system. Logitech has a sound... You either like it, or you don't. I like it, but know that it is far from audiofile sound. The system works great. the little dongle remote thing is odd, but puts volume where I need it. The speaks mout easily. I like the center mount front speak. The bass is woof woof, but nothing window shaking. It works and can easily overpower the speaks.
Summary: I researched these speakers before I bought them, and it was these that I was looking for specifically because I wanted the metal grates over the speakers and the "Matrix" function. The Best Buys around me stopped carrying the X540's and only had the Z506's which look more like desk speakers where I wanted wall mountable speakers, so onto Ebay I went. I was surprised to find this set for as cheap as I did.
Poor connections, broken less than 6 months after purchase
T. Whiting, Amazon

Summary: As with others, I was shipped an EU power connector. People, this is NOT the EU, ship with a PROPER POWER CABLE. Seriously, is it THAT hard to do? Talk about a total scam. Secondly, less than 6 months after the purchase, sub and center have disappeared. They just cease to function. This is just ridiculous, given that I paid close to $100 for this product It's amazing that this company is still in business, shipping horrible garbage like this.
Excerpt: "...me it came down to Logitech and Creative, they are both very good brands I had a choice between this x540 set and also the creative inspire t6100. From reading various reviews it was very close competition, but I settled for this set of speakers in the end. This is a set of 5.1 speakers. For those of you who do understand this basically means there are five speakers and one subwoofer. Again for those of you who do not know what a subwoofer is, it ...
Excerpt: These Speakers are amazing, i use them on a daily basis for my PC and My xbox 360 they provide stunning audio with a good amount of Bass. These are perfect to enhance a movie watching experience as they provide a pseudo surround sound which sounds great. The Only downside to these speakers is the relatively complicated sett up and the vast amount of cables however if you are organised they can be contained.
Excerpt: Hi, don't normally write reviews online but just had to spread the word about how amazing these speakers are! They are truly incredible for the money, with impressive bass, amazing surround sound as well as the all important remote control, with which you can plug your headphones into as well without having to reach fro your desk. The surround sound is great when watching movies if you have a 5.1 sound card, so much better than normal surround.
Summary: I had a great 2.1 Harman/Kardon stereo desktop system with a large powered subwolfer for a long time. Last year, I added a creative 5.1 sound card to my PC build which allowed me to get the most out of my 2.1 system. This Fathers Day, my wife asked what I wanted and I knew it was time to upgrade to a 5.1 surround sound system. The Logitech X-540 system got great reviews, had the watts I wanted and was the right price.
